iDOLM@STER2 December Catalogue…
Or I could just call it Catalogue 3, but that feels a little disingenuous given that much of this content is also hitting the 360 version of the game, where it certainly isn’t just the third catalogue.
Not that the (arguably) most important part of the DLC is available for 360, being that Ai Hidaka of 876Pro (or, rather, of Dearly Stars) fame is being made available for S4U. Similar deal to the Miku pack, really – S4U, festivals and an additional costume, and it’ll no doubt be just as expensive to pick up once they get around to announcing prices. There’s a little more flexibility on display with Ai, though, in so much as there’s both some costume variance and that you can have her perform Go My Way!! in addition to her character song Alive.
Speaking of Alive, the dance animation looks curiously stiff. I kind of wonder if it’s just a straight port-across of the DS motion data for that (I should really get around to playing that game). Probably, but then it is a pretty slow song, so I guess there’s not a whole lot to be done with it anyway.
Nothing else especially exciting about the catalogue – there’s Marionettes Heart – Mikis insert song from the TV animes 13th episode – for those who particularly liked that. I’ll probably end up buying it just because I’m a sucker.
I suppose whilst I’m writing about iM@S, I’ll mention that there’s going to be another live stream on NicoNico Douga this Thursday to celebrate the airing of the last episode of the anime. They did this for the first episode of the show – members of the shows voice cast will natter on for an hour or so, then comment on the show as it airs on Japanese TV (the idea being that people in Japan could have the NND stream open whilst they’re watching the show on their TVs). Amusing event, though I’m imagining that this one will have 100% fewer Steins;Gate references (particularly given Asami Imai doesn’t look to be in attendance). Obviously, half the significance of the event is also entirely lost on us foreign devils unable to watch the show as it airs as well.
