iDOLM@STER Xenoglossia DVD 7
This is very much one of those posts I’m doing simply because I’ve posted about every other volume, and the next disk is due soon (along with the far more exciting first episode of S.ifr). The omake – a discussion between the twins – isn’t really all that interesting, nor does it have any images worth capturing – there only three or four new images (not all entirely static – one’s an elevator shot). It really isn’t worth expending the effort required to re-watch carefully enough to accurately talk about.
The FP bonus is a continuation of that from the previous volume. It’s probably just as well that the actual episodes on the DVD are 18 through 20, the shit-meet-fan episodes. Kudos to Sunrise for not putting them on the cour boundary with this show like they normally do, though they did end up frustrating a lot of viewers as a result.
Screencap taken purely because it reminded me of Hinanos post the other day. Her parfait lacked the cake and pocky, though, which is probably just as well.
The ads on the DVD has the advert for the Kodomo no Jikan DVDs, which, yes, does make a big issue of the whole “no” removal thing ^^;
Oh, and only two weeks until Live For You! Yay! There was a new trailer with a couple of short clips of the OAV out a couple of days ago if you’ve not seen it yet.

I have 6 points to make.
1. If Haruka fangirls about that ice cream, then she must be re-nicknamed “Extremely Baka Ribbon”. But, darn it, it looks delicious.
2. No Tokachi?
3. I believe the next volume is Azusa’s, so in my opinion, it should have fanservice, (AzusaxJoseph FTW) no Makoto or Chihaya, and no being emo (or midlife crisis if my Babel Fish translation of the JP Wikipedia is correct in stating she’s 51.)
4. I think that Yukiho should’ve had the last 3 episodes, because they have lots/far too much of her passionate angst.
5. I watched a DVD rip of some Live For You-related thing, I think it was the CD of shiny smile, and it had a new version of Massugu which sounded like it belonged on Radio 2.
6. Darn, that was a long and pointless comment. If you read it, then I apologise for wasting your time.

51 does actually sound right (actually, I’d figured her a little older than that, but close enough), since in Xenoglossia she and Azusa stopped ageing when they were in their twenties.
The DVD rip is probably from the bundle from the first (well, zeroth) Master Live CD (so, yeah, Shiny Smile single) which was out earlier in the week. I’ve not bothered hunting it down since I’ve got the actual CD on order. I’m not sure if the prospect of the Massugu sounding like something from Radio 2 fills me with dread or interest.
The last volumes omake feature is supposed to be an epilogue (at least according to Bandai Visuals online catalogue), so I guess Chihaya fans are likely to get shafted with that one. I’d have rather had Riffa anyway than Chihaya (and Yukiho ^^;), but given my largely moan about the series was it’s lack of epilogue, then I’m quite happy with what we were getting. Not sure about volume eights though, the title makes me wonder if it might be more to do with her past immediately prior to the big Modenkind incident. We shall see, I guess – I’ll be late in getting ahold of it anyway thanks to Bacanno being released a week after the rest of my order.

hmm…been a while since i posted here, a new spam protection eh? anyways, i’m looking forward to the ova w/ live for you. it looks interesting, but most importantly it has miki in anime form ^^. oh yeah, was wondering if you got the sweet memories book. debating on whether i should get it, even though i’m not a huge fan of xenoglossia. i’ve seen some pics of it already. seems like your usual art/fan book w/ old artwork from various mags but i don’t know if it has exclusive art and concept art not seen in other mags and dvd booklets.

My host was complaining about the server load caused by the amount of spam post-processing going on, so I needed to insert something to stop spam getting to the more processing-intensive stuff. I should really get rid of that maths stuff, as it’s entirely overkill, but I’m not in a hurry to do so.
I had every intention to pick up Sweet Memories, but promptly forget. Since I’ve not been keeping up with Xenoglossia art in the same way I did HiME/ZHiME stuff I’m not really in a position to say what was new or not anyway. I guess I’ll go and order it now…
