Mikan Watch #105: SPACE PATROL LULUCO

From Season 4, Episode 1 (or, episode 10) of Space Patrol Luluco, one of the two latest efforts from Studio TRIGGER, being used as, well… it’s a spoiler.

Also, Wooser.

Luluco is doing a pretty good job of convincing me that comedy anime is really second-best served in nine minute chunks – obviously, such things are best served in the precise format that Teekyu follows, but failing that, Luluco does a pretty good job of not really overstretching it’s often one-gag episodes, taking things to their end-point without stretching them too thin. It’s a pretty entertaining show, really.

Also, any show that delivers more Sucy is pretty good in my book.

Zaregoto Anime Project Announced

Posted by DiGiKerot in Random Stuff at May 6, 2016 on 10:16 am

Apparently, they announced an anime project based around Nisioisins Zaregoto novel cycle. It’s apparent existence is about all they announced – it’s maybe a little wishful thinking to think this might be what Tatsuya Oishi is working on now that the end is presumably insight on the long road to Kizumonogatari, so let’s not think that for now.

Mikan Watch #103: Tetsujin 28 (2004)

Thaliarchus over on the Twitter pinged this shot from the 2004 version of Tetsujin 28 in my direction some sixty days ago, which I promptly sat on and did nothing with.

I can’t say I’ve seen any of the 2004 version of the series myself, mind you. I did, however, watch an awful lot of The New Adventures of Gigantor (the US version of the 1980 Tetsujin 28 show) as a wee’un when it ran on the old satellite telly here in Blighty. I don’t really have much recollection of it outside of the opening theme, though!

Chika*Chika Idol…

Omo has probably already written most of what I’d want to say about this, but given I’ve not posted in the best part of a couple of months, I suppose I should probably persist.

The short version is that veteran anime director Hiroshi Nishikiori has launched a crowdfunding campaign to produce a 3DCG idol anime short called Chika*Chika Idol, which is somewhat unfortunately floundering on two different fronts.
