From episode 12 of Concrete Revolutio, a Superhuman who is a guy in a Mikan box with a drill for one of his arms. I’d have to presume that he’s based on some popular character from the 1960s or so, but I can’t say I have any idea who. I’d presume that he’s secretly way, way powerful, though.

I’ll probably write more about ConRevo in coming days, so I can’t really say I have much to say about it right now. It’s a real good show, though!

Merry Christmas, one and all, and because I’ve been out most the day and have noooooo time to commit something new to digital ink, have this dumb image from a Christmas card I sent my brother this year. Fury Road was a pretty great movie anyway.

Anyhow, whilst I’m here, I may as well make a brief public service announcement – Daisuki dropped note on their Twitter feed earlier today to mention the fact that iDOLM@STER will be dropping off their service on the 31st of the month. This is just the original series, not Cinderella Girls, but given this is the only point of legitimate English availability for large portions of the world (including the UK), well… if your seasonal back-log schedule isn’t already overfilled, and you’ve not seen the show already, it is well beyond worth watching.

Also, episode 22 is totally seasonally relevant!

(Also, for what it’s worth, the finale of Hackadoll this week totally had an extended combined Fist of the Northstar/MadMax pastiche going for a while, as well as also being probably a better Dragonball than Super often reportedly is)

From episode 68 of the ever-wonderful, and greatest-sports-cartoon-ever, Teekyuu, which I cannot possibly think of a more appropriate show than for the 100th official Mikan Watch instalment.

Not that I particularly have any further comment regarding the show, but now that I’ve devoted the 100th post to something worthwhile, I can probably go back and actually post some of the other possible entries I’ve been sitting on (or, more honestly, been too lazy to go back and screencap).

I can’t say I’m watching Aria AA. I watched the previous Aria anime, or Bad Aria as I sometimes refer to it, in an act of differentiation from that other show called Aria that has the boats and stuff. It wasn’t a particularly great show – coming at the time it did, it very much felt like the epitome of me-too tsundere-fuelled light-novel adaptations, made amusing largely through such absurdities as a school-uniform parachute and demon-vampire-werewolf Dracula (both of which I’ve just spoilt for you, rendering the value of the series minimal).

I hear Aria AA is actually pretty OK, though. Or pretty gay. Possibly both, as it’s hard to tell sometimes these days. I gather it eschews pretty much anything resembling an actual serious plot in favour of largely being daft (and sporadically mocking the originals protagonist), which is probably for the best. It had the misfortune of starting in October, though, and it’s a pretty big struggle for me to keep up with anything that isn’t easily available streaming to the UK this time of year given I’m out-and-about with event-related travel, and I’m not realistically going to find the time to go back and start it at this point.
